Mission

Butterfly Project, Inc. seeks to help young women in Leon County and the surrounding areas who have aged out of the foster care system, without regard to race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation; develop a positive self-image, strong sense of identity, personal responsibility, self-esteem, a sense of achievement and leadership abilities. Butterfly Project prepares young women for the transition into womanhood by providing them with a nurturing environment and mentors who provide guidance, model supportive and responsible behavior, listen without being judgmental, share their own life stories, and offer fun and exciting learning experiences through a variety of workshops, cultural trips, retreats, college visits, leadership training, and community service projects.
